KaraDom plays MIDI and KAR tracks with a quality sound bank, a USB expander or the Software Expander, and lets you mix every instrument.
The MIDI Mixer (MIM)
- 16 channels, one per instrument, each with the instrument name (▾ menu to change it), volume, slider and M to mute it. MASTER controls everything. At the top the song's BPM.
- Channel 4 is the guide melody: it's off when the song opens; the M key turns it on and off.
- The instrument you change from the mixer stays, and raising or lowering a channel doesn't upset the volume.
What MIDI plays with
From the mixer open «🎛 EXPANDER MIDI» and choose one of three sources, then «💾 OK / Apply». The choice applies at once, even mid-song, and stays saved.
- SoundFont (SF2) — the sound bank inside the PC. «📂 Choose…» or «📂 LOAD SF2» to use your own .sf2/.sf3 file.
- Hardware expander (USB/MIDI) — a connected expander (for example M-Live X-Light): choose the Port, «🔄 Detect» finds it, «🔊 Test» plays a note. If connected it takes priority.
- Expander Software — expander sounds without hardware, downloaded and started by KaraDom. In the «Software Expander settings» box adjust Volume, Bass, Brightness and Reverb; the «🎚 Expander controls» button opens the other controls.
From MIDI to MP3 PRO
- Tools → «MIDI/KAR → MP3»Choose the MIDI or KAR file.
- SourceSoftware Expander, hardware expander (recorded) or a SoundFont: by default the one playing in the Mixer, with the same effects.
- Quality192, 256 or 320 kbps. «🔊 Improve audio» normalizes and limits the volume.
